A total of 70 shops are lined down each side of the central part, thus, the shops are vertically oriented toward the central hall. Dim daily light enters in the central space through windows, which are located under the vault, thus the interior has to be constantly illuminated with electric power lighting, projected in the way that the vault space is evenly fulfilled with small lighting fixtures. Central vaulted space in western side of the building once served as a connection with garden of Gazi Husref-bey's Tašli inn, which was a part of this trade complex.
