Ćulhan Street is located on the western side of Baščaršija Square.

It was laid out at the beginning of the 16th century and its name comes from the ćulhan (stokehold) in Firuz Bey’s Hamam (Turkish bath), which was built in 1509. It is actually a narrow pedestrian passage which runs from Baščaršija to the Hamam. This site now serves as a venue for various events, exhibitions, concerts, literary evenings and the like.  The street’s name has not been changed since it was first laid out.
