Sarajevan embroidery is known by far. Various
elements of clothes were embroidered, and later
completed by a tailor (terzija). Woman
embroiderers worked at home and did not have
their own workshops. Merely with arrival of
Austria-Hungarians, the National Government
opened embroidery workshops. Today,
tablecloths, napkins, cushions, articles of
clothing and other items are embroidered in the
workshops.
